The café will attempt to define what it means to have a sacred place in the modern world and will look at ways individuals can find such a place in their lives. Drawing on the work of Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell this interactive workshop will explore a number of tools for engaging with the 'sacred'.
The sacred will be explored as it relates to our workplace, the communities that we live in, and in our relationship to the natural world. The café will invite participants to share their stories about their sacred place and what it means in the context of their lives.
As part of his ongoing PhD thesis work on spirituality Nick Oddy has developed a self inquiry process inspired by the work of Joseph Campbell. The process sets out to explore the choices and attachments that we have in our life. Through a series of encounters we will be encouraged to make selections of images and then explore the connections we have to them and what they mean to us at a conscious and then subconscious level. Nick will lead us in an experiential workshop on what it feels like to detach from those things that we often use to falsely define who we really are.
